Virus are piece of software  that try to damage your system and disable services. Spyware and malware are not necessary damages your pc.
Spyware is a software that aids in gathering information about a person or organisation without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the customer’s consent or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer’s knowledge. Spyware is mostly used for the purpose of tracking and storing internet users’ movement on the web, serving up pop-ups ads to internet users.
You can use Spybot Search and destroy software to scan your system against spyware.
Malware on the other hand is a software used or programmed by attackers to disrupt computer operation, gather sensitive information or gain access to private computer systems. It can appear in the form of code, scripts, active content and other software. Always make sure you have Antivirus software in your system. Also always ensure you update all the installed softwares in your PC and also run windows update always to prevent viruses, spywares, and malware attack on your PC. When you update current versions of most installed softwares, it prevents attack from virus because most recent versions of softwares try to work on their vulnerability thereby making it impossible for a virus or malware attack but if you keep using the old software without update, you will be vulnerable to virus, the same goes with the windows operating system update. So, always check your installed softwares to ensure its up to date. You can use a software updater from www.filehippo.com, they will always give you notification whenever any off your software is out of date.
You can also use CCLEANER and other good antivirus softwares like NORTON ANTIVIRUS or AVAST ANTIVIRUS to protect your windows PC. Also remember to use SPYBOT SEARCH AND DISTROY software. Thank you. Please do send your comments if you have any question.
